Ideally the hood will be 6-12” wider than the range (same width at a minimum though), and at least 900cfm (but more is definitely better). No matter what you get, don’t neglect ventilation. If you bake a lot of crusty bread, or oven poach fish, or bake delicate custards, you’ll like the steam oven. If you’re unsure about the combi oven in the Thermador, you’re probably not going to make the most of it. Wolf also has more widespread brand caché. ![]() I think Wolf has a better stove burner design and it won’t annoy you by turning on and off like the Thermador does on the low simmer mode. I rarely need more than four burners anyway even for large holiday meals. With the double griddle, you can obviously use it as one uses a griddle, and you can also use it similar to a French top and put pots and pans on top of it, so it’s not wasted real estate, and having a large griddle is really a unique and addicting cooking experience. I’d skip the char grill personally, I prefer to use a broiler for grill type tasks. However, infrared gas broilers are much better than electric broilers and the difference is easy to perceive. ![]() I know the info out there all claims “if you bake you want dual fuel” but I really think the difference is imperceptible for most people between a really good gas oven and electric when it comes to typical baking tasks. There’s no wrong answer between those choices.īetween Wolf and Thermador 48” ranges, I think would go for the Wolf with the double griddle and gas oven. ![]()
